On March 14, 2022, the Rotary Satellite Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise was officially admitted to Rotary International.  To celebrate this event, April 6, 2022 we had an official Charter Night gathering
Senator Brian Kon opened the ceremony, followed by a Land Acknowledgement from 2021 Slapshot Co-recipient Arden Martinez.  The crowd around us joined singing both national anthems and there were many questions from on lookers as to why we were there.  Past District Governor Robb McLeod shared with us his Rotary journey, followed by the Sunrise Charter President Jim Sissons that gave us a brief history on our club.

Incoming District Governor shared our Imagine Banner with President-Elect Carrie Zeffiro.  She then gave us some inspirational words and presented Satellite Charter Chair Quintin Powell with the official certificate.  Each of the charter members received their charter pin.

At the very end, Past District Governor, Bob Artis, shared a parable about the bird in the hand, and made a poignant remark about the fate of the club lying in the hands of each of the charter members.

So many people helped to make this night a success, Carling Wright for helping to secure the Terrace at the Best Western Cairn Croft, Bob Artis for bringing the pins so they would arrive on time, Dave Berry for helping with the certificate and framing and taking some awesome pictures. The speakers for their wise words and encouragement.  In the backdrop, was a powerpoint presentation put together by President Jennifer Schoenhals, who also was Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

It takes a village, but we have now given birth to the Rotary Satellite Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise Sunset, Well done all!
